Authentic but Mediocre Tacos at Tacombi in Westbury

I missed Taco Tuesday but in honor of our President, I went to Tacombi in Westbury on Thursday. I loved the atmosphere but felt the tacos were overrated.

To put it in perspective, Tacombi was much better than Casa de Catrina but it is not on par with Takumi Tacos

On the positive side, Tacombi would win on the vibe contest. It has this indoor/outdoor flow that makes the restaurant very welcoming. The waitstaff was incredibly nice and helpful.

The tacos however were a disappointment. I ordered the Pollo Yucateco (Chicken Taco) and Carne Asada (Steak Taco).

The tacos were small and the meat was over cooked. The addition of the onions and jalapeno provided much needed flavor. In the end, these tacos were nothing special and would fall under the average of tacos.

With all the other taco places around, there is no need to visit Tacombi. You would be better served going to another place.
