Casa De Catrina -- an Absolute Crime Against Mexican Cuisine

Casa de Catrina in Carle Place was nothing short of a culinary nightmare. Walking into the restaurant felt like stepping into a soulless void—the so-called 'atmosphere' was as lifeless as a cemetery at dawn. No wonder they have all the day of the dead skulls since lifeless was their theme.

The service was a tragedy in slow motion, with inattentive staff who seemed to have forgotten that their job involved serving customers, not performing an interpretive dance of indifference.

The food was an absolute crime against Mexican cuisine. The tacos tasted like cardboard filled with regret. It could have been better if the chicken in the tacos did not taste as if it was boiled to make chicken soup. The enchiladas were drier than the desert they should have never left.

And the margaritas? Weak and watery, like they were mixed from tears of disappointment. It is painfully obvious that this establishment cares more about looking the part than delivering any semblance of authentic flavor.

With all the other taco places that have popped up, go to anyone of them for a better meal. In fact, a trip to Taco Bell would have been a better experience especially with the price difference. Chicken Street Tacos should not cost $18!!

On the positive side, if you are headed to Casa de Catrina, you can choose Red Lobster, Passione and Fogo de Chao instead. Any one of them would provide a better meal. Now I want a Red Lobster biscuit!
