We went to Trattoria DiMeo in Roslyn and figured we should learn from our prior visits on what to order an what not to order.
Pre Ordering
Enjoy the bread basket along with olives and cubes of parmigiana cheese. The bread can be hit or miss depending upon how fresh it is. It comes with olive oil but they will serve packets of butter if you request it.
Appetizers
Caesar Salad, while a staple at most Italian restaurant, is a disappointment here. This is one dish you should skip.
Baked Clams. They really delivered on the baked calms. They were hot, fresh and tasty. We gobbled up the 8 clams that came in our order. We highly recommend it.
Grilled Octopus Salad was tasty and light. This is definitely an item to order.
Entrees
Seafood Fra Diavolo It had the right type of spice and the seafood was fresh and tasty and the pasta was delicious. This is definitely a dish to order
Veal Pizzaiola, Veal Marsala and Veal Parmigiana The veal was not as tender as it should be. While the dishes tastes good because they do taste really good, the veal itself was a disappointment. Skip the Veal and Order Chicken instead.
Eggplant Parmigiana The seasoning and the cooking of this dish was as close to perfect as you can get. We highly recommend it.
Dessert
Chocolate Mousse Cake This was excellent. We highly recommend it. Definitely order it. You always have room for dessert!
