We wanted some ice cream and we decided to try Hildebrandt’s in Williston Park. IT has been there for 100 years. It has the classic ice cream parlor décor. It was clear that the new owners invested some money to refresh this shop. The vibe remains an old-school soda shop vibe with vintage décor. Everything seemed new other than the old school phone booth, which does not take any money and does not work. ☹
We went for the ice cream and we were not disappointed. The challenging part is choosing the flavors. We had to choose among Mallomar, Vanilla Fudge, Banana, Chocolate and Chocolate Quad. My wife being in love with chocolate wanted to go with a double chocolate option. I talked her off the ledge so we went with a scoop of Vanilla Fudge and the Chocolate Quad (which consists of chocolate ice cream and chocolate chips). Because it was not rich enough, we had to add the hot fudge. As you would expect, it was simply amazing.
We really enjoyed the ice cream but unfortunately it will not make the top 10 list of best ice cream shops on Long Island. We still love it especially for its location. We will continue to visit for the best ice cream in Williston Park.
