When is Uncle Giuseppe’s Opening In Greenvale? Spoiler Alert Not in 2025

I had dinner at Bar Frites. We had a great meal there but were disappointed that they removed the Salmon Sliders which is one of our favorite appetizers. I guess there was not a great demand for that one. I love the onion soup and the French Dip!

As we left, we drove by the old Stop & Shop supermarket (which we all remember as a Pathmark). It has been a real shame that we have not had a good supermarket in that space. I guess it could have gotten worse if a Food Emporium went in there. The one in Albertson tarnishes the brand for me. I would have loved if the Wegman’s in Lake Grove opened in that space. But we are not so lucky. But to dream!

We are excited for an Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace to open and provide us with a great Italian Grocery store. But when will it open? For those of you who have forgotten, Stop & Shop closed in 2024. 

After some research, it still appears that Uncle Giuseppe’s is still planning on opening during the First Quarter 2026 (so like 9 months from now). It seems that they are focusing their efforts first on their  Bohemia shop and the pop-up market on Fire Island. I wish they showed us some more love!!

In the interim, we will have to travel for a good market!
