Town Bagel Plainview-- A Cut Above

As I continue my pursuit of the best bagel on Long Island, I heard that Town Bagel of Plainview should be in the running. They do a darn good bagel there.

My first observation was the parking lot in the strip mall where Town Bagel was located is a disaster. They do not have enough parking for all of customers of the stores. I know that it does not matter when reviewing the quality of the bagels at Town Bagel that the parking is a challenge but I wanted to share my frustrations.

Town Bagel was hopping with people (maybe they are the cause for all of the parking issues).

Following my usual protocol, I ordered a plain bagel with nothing on it.

I am happy to report that the bagel at Town Bagel had a nice golden sheen. It was fresh and crunching on the outside. It was also chewy on the inside. The only points I could deduct were on account of the taste of the bagel, which was just ok and it was not warm. Compared to my recent bagel tastings, this bagel is head and shoulders above them. But, if fell short of my Three Sons Bagels in Garden City.

I am happy to give Town Bagel a 9.2 rating out of 10. If you are in the area, I highly recommend that you visit Town Bagel for one of the premier bagels on Long Island.
