In what appears to be my never ending odyssey to find the best Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap, I tried one from Roslyn Delicacies, in of course, the town of Roslyn. Roslyn Delicacies is in the heart of Roslyn and offers up almost anything you could want to eat for breakfast and lunch. With the addition of PopUp Bagels down the street, I wondered how Roslyn Deli’s business was impacted. They told me that their sales of coffee has increased dramatically since PopUp Bagels does not sell coffee. As an aside, it is strange for a bagel shop not to offer a staple like coffee.
For lunch, I ordered a Chicken Caesar Wrap on a plain wrap. My preferred wrap is a tomato but that was not available. The ingredients were both fresh and high quality. They scored points with me since both the chicken and lettuce are chopped. I feel this improves the whole wrap experience especially because the dressing absorbs better into the chopped salad than when it is not chopped.
I will highlight that the dressing was not uniform throughout the wrap which made some parts dry. In their defense, it is extremely difficult to have the dressing spread evenly throughout.
My overall opinion is Caesar Salads are a difficult dish to get perfect and very few places offer a good one, whether it is in a high-end restaurant or a sandwich shop. Therefore, a good Chicken Caesar Wrap is a major find and should be acknowledged and embraced. With that being said, Roslyn Delicacies makes a pretty good Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap. I will note that it is not in the same league as the best but it is one of the best locally.
