We just received confirmation that Limani Taverna in Woodbury closed. A sign posted to the front door said that the last dinner was on September 28th. Calls to the restaurant have not been returned.
Limani Taverna originally opened as Oniro Tavern in the old Majors Steakhouse space. Limani Taverna joins the former Limani Mezze (from Roslyn) to close. Both were more casual and less expensive then the original Limani in Roslyn.
We started our love affair with this restaurant during COVID when they sold their family specials which could feed 8 people. We will really miss this restaurant. They offered so really good food and pricing was reasonable. The vibe was relaxed and it was a great place for dinner.
I have to wonder why it closed. It always seemed to have a crowd on weekends. Was it a lease issue or did the economics for this restaurant not work?
The key question is where to go for good Greek food? We had a great meal at Philia Restaurant in East Meadow so I would recommend that you go there.
