We were in the mood for Greek food and decided to try Limani Taverna in Woodbury. Our first impression was that it had a great atmosphere and engaging ambiance. The restaurant had a buzz but the noise level was not too overwhelming. We have seen restaurants where our the sounds from our neighboring tables can become a nuisance. This was not the case. Kudos to the design folks at Limani Taverna

As to the food, somethings were really good while others were just ok. We started with a Prasini Salad, Assorted Dips and Grilled Octopus. Out of the appetizers, the Prasini Salad was the best. The Grilled Octopus was a little overcooked. We were thinking of sending it back but we were a little too lazy. The dips was small and some were excellent while others were a little too salty.

We followed up with the Steak Kebab and Crab Cake. This is where Limani Taverna really shined. This is an unusual event since we typically like the appetizers more at restaurants than the entrees. Here, the entrees were the stars. The steak was perfectly done with just the right amount of seasoning. As to the Crab Cake, I will have to say just wow.

We finished our meal with a chocolate souffle which we did not think was terribly Greek but we liked that dessert better than traditional ones. Limani Taverna knows its audience and caters to them. The souffle was more akin to a chocolate lava cake but we were not complaining because it oozed of chocolate. It hit the right spot.

All in all, we enjoyed our meal once we moved on from the appetizers and we can recommend Limani Taverna for an enjoyable Greek diner. I am planning on coming for another meal.
