Finally A New Restaurant to Replace Steve's Pier One

I was riding my bike through Bayville and passed the old Steve’s Pier One. It reminded me of my youth. Back then, if we had a special occasion, we would head to Steve’s Pier One for the great views of Long Island Sound and a high-end seafood restaurant. We would definitely start with clam chowder and then proceed for some fish.

It is sad that it is gone. But I would have to say that the food was probably mediocre at best if we did not wear our reminisces glasses. If you want to remember what it was like, take a look at this video

On the positive side, the Beach Barn is coming to Bayville. It will be a seasonal restaurant. It is scheduled to open sometime this year. It will have a seafood themed menu. The view of the Long Island Sound will remain and make this a much-desired destination. My major reservation is that waterfront restaurants like this tend to have mediocre food at best.
