Choppers Burger Bar

I was in Glen Head and was driving by Choppers Burger Bar and decided to stop in and try their burger and hotdog. I later found out that they are owned by the Brass Rail and Heirloom Tavern folks. Add to the fact that Choppers pledges to deliver a gourmet burger bar experience. What more could I ask for?

The layout of Choppers is pretty clean with the kitchen on one side and a few tables at the front and the back with some stools in the middle.

I started with the hotdog which I was happy to see was a Hebrew National that was cooked on their griddle. It had a nice crunch with a good taste. A very respectable hotdog. Nothing that will compete with our favorite hotdog from Black Label Burgers

We then followed up with a Cheeseburger with the Choppers Sauce. I had high expectations since this is their specialty.

To start, the bun was tasty and the burger was cooked almost perfectly. It had a good taste with a little extra juice oozing out of the burger. This was a good burger but not the best. I had the same feeling with the hotdog. Choppers serves good food but unfortunately, not the best. So my take on Choppers is it is a good place to go for a neighborhood burger and hotdog but not worth going out of your way
