We were in Westhampton Beach and wanted to have a diner experience so we made a reservation at Flora. This restaurant is owned by the same group that operates Rumba, Cowfish, Avo Taco and Fauna. All of these restaurants excel in their food and dining experience.
Ambiance and Vibe
Flora has a chic, sophisticated, and vibrant atmosphere. The decor often leans towards modern elegance, creating an inviting yet upscale setting. They even have a patio area with couches for drinks and to wait at.
Food and Menu
The cuisine at Flora focuses on modern American with a strong emphasis on fresh, high-quality ingredients. We started our meal with cheesy bread. It was fresh, crunching and with the addition of cheese, ever so tasty.
Appetizers: We started with Burrata, Edamame Hummus and Caesar Salad. Each of the appetizers was really good. They were fresh and tasty. In fact, the Caesar Salad had me wanting more. For someone who has been challenged finding a good Caesar Salad. Flora really delivered on it. The dressing was light but tangy and blended really well with the lettuce, croutons and cheese. They really shined on the appetizers. I need to remember to just order appetizers. It is where I enjoy restaurants the most.
Main Courses: We had the Salmon and the Duck Breast. Each of these dishes were tasty and fresh but were not the stars of the show. The duck breast was really tasty but the duck was not as tender as we had hoped.
Desserts: We were told that the Flower Pot was the most incredible dessert. Our waitress and the manager told us that the carrot cake was a life changing experience.
The flower pot was tasty. It definitely looked like a plant in a flower pot. It consisted of vanilla ice cream, Tate’s chocolate chip cookies and cookie crumbles. It also had caramel in. This dessert was so over hyped by my friends that it would invariably be a let down. And unfortunately our take was that it was good but not the greatest dessert of all time.
The carrot cake was one of the best that I have ever had but I tend to be more a chocolate person so it was not a life changing experience. I am glad that we had it!!
Service
Service at Flora is professional, attentive, and efficient. The staff are knowledgeable about the menu and wine list, contributing to a polished dining experience. Also, everyone we interacted with was especially nice and helpful. It was a pleasure dealing with everyone.
Overall
Flora in Westhampton Beach offers a sophisticated and energetic dining experience with a focus on high-quality, modern American cuisine. They really deliver on the food and experience. I just wish the duck was more tender. The shame was how over hyped the Flower Pot was. It is a good dessert but some many people sold as the best in Westhampton. It was not. Overall, I would recommend Flora for a good and enjoyable night out. Well worth it!!
