Avra Madison -- The Best Greek Food

We branched out this past week for the start of my birthday week by going to Avra Madison in NYC. Everything was great starting with the Pita Bread and ending with the dessert.

The interesting part of the pita bread was that it was crunching as opposed to the soft pita that I am used to.

We had a Romaine Salad, Grilled Octopus, the Saganaki and the Classic Spreads. The Octopus was tender and favorable The salad and the spreads were excellent as expected. If there was any disappointment that would be the Saganaki since it was flavorless.

For entrees, we had the lamb chops and Branzino. The lamb chops was the clear winner but coming in as a strong second was the Branzino. For dessert, we had the Greek yogurt with fruit. My wife was not a fan since there was no chocolate anywhere on the plate.

In the end, Avra delivered on the the food and it was a most enjoyable meal. Worthy of travelling into NYC even when they institute the congestion pricing. I am not sure whether you have to pay since it is on 60th street.
