We tried 7th Street Burger in Mineola to see what the excitement was all about. 7th Street Burger has carved out a niche for itself, promising a no-frills, old-school smash burger experience. While the concept is compelling, the actual burger often falls into the realm of mediocre, leaving a craving for something truly exceptional unfulfilled.
The Vibe: The decor is intentionally sparse, leaning into a utilitarian, almost industrial chic with strong branding. For those seeking a lively, quick-service atmosphere, it delivers. The menu is the simplest one that I have seen in a long time. Burgers, Fries and Drinks. That’s about it.
The Burger: The core offering is the smash burger – thin patties pressed onto a hot griddle, creating a crispy crust and locking in juices. On paper, this is a beautiful thing. In practice, at 7th Street, the execution can be inconsistent, leading to a burger that’s often just… okay.

Toppings: The standard “7th Street Burger” comes with American cheese, grilled onions, pickles, and their signature sauce. These are classic complements. I can not judge their sauce since I did not taste it on my burger. So I have to give it an incomplete.
Overall Flavor Profile: It is a burger so it cannot be bad but it is not great either. It is not memorable and the bun felt greasy. Nothing stood out.
Fries: The fries are typically thin, crispy, and generously salted. They tasted good. No issues there.

Conclusion: More Hype Than Delivery. The vibe is good but the product is mediocre. If you want a good burger, there are plenty of good places to go. I do not see a reason to return.
