3Gs Gourmet Deli Takes A Stab at Black and White Cookies

I ate lunch at 3Gs Gourmet Deli in Delray Beach. The food was mixed. We did like the turkey salad (served with fresh tasty rye bread) which is not a usual mainstay at delis so kudos to 3Gs.

As we were leaving, I noticed the bakery case and had to choose between the chocolate babka muffin and a Black and White Cookie

I went with the Black and White Cookie. I think I chose wrong. While this Black and White Cookie was super fresh, it was more of a cake than a cookie. It paled by comparison to some of the best black and whites that I have had. Back to 3Gs, a cake taste and consistency did not really work with their cookie. The frosting also tended towards the cake front. If this was a whole cake with the frosting on top, it may have worked. But as a cookie, it just tasted wrong. It was too soft and felt out of place.
My search continues for the best Black and White Cookie. Let me know if you have a place to recommend.
