With the loss of the Morning Rose Café, we needed to branch out and find another place for breakfast and brunch. We have been thinking of trying Franklin and Phoebe Brunchery in Franklin Square for awhile and this past weekend we took the plunge.
Our first impression is that Franklin and Phoebe must have been a diner in another life. It has the booths that we know and love along with the stools and the counter top. This reinforced our comfort level for brunch. What surprised me most was the lack of wait for a table. We were fully expecting a half hour wait. I hope for my sake that this remains (for the owner’s sake, I hope that they pack the people in)
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful starting with the hostess and continuing to our waitress and busboy. When I asked for some water, they delivered it filled with ice. They aced that one!!

We ordered the Hungry Farmer Skillet which consisted of Scrambled Eggs, Home Fries, Sausage, Bacon, Green Peppers and a Belgian Waffle Triangle. We also ordered the stack of Chocolate Chip Pancakes.

The pancakes were prepared perfectly and they absolutely nailed the taste. The light and golden brown. With the chocolate chips, we could not have asked for anything more. They get an A rating for their pancakes.

The Hungry Farmer Skillet was so much more than I could have asked for. I am almost embarrassed to say that I could not even come to finishing it. My mother would scold me for not being in the clean plate club. The eggs and sausage tasted amazingly. The home fries were more like cooked potatoes than home fries but they still tasted great. I was a little disappointed with the single Belgian Waffle Triangle. Don’t get me wrong, I was not disappointed with its taste since it was a great waffle.
I was expecting more than a single waffle triangle. It is not as if there was not enough food on my skillet. I guess my expectations were off. Either way, I was so happy with this dish that I would order it again in a minute.
I do have a menu recommendation. They should add muffins to their offerings. It felt like a place that would have really good muffins. Maybe just a special from time to time.
Price Point:
Their prices were slightly on the higher-end for pancakes and skillet options. I believe they deliver very good value for their high quality food.
Overall:
We highly recommend Franklin & Phoebe Brunchery for delicious brunch.
