What Foods Do People Hate on Thanksgiving?
With the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, many people are in the midst of purchasing and cooking food. In my family, turkey is the mainstay along with stuffing, sweet potatoes and of course cranberry sauce. I have learned that across the USA, people also eat a variety of other food Thanksgiving. These additional dishes include ham, duck, lasagna and steak.
I started to wonder if these additional dishes were served because people did not like traditional Thanksgiving foods. After a little digging, I found that an annual survey that The Vacationer conducts on Thanksgiving Food that People Dislike. Some of the results are surprising
2024 The Vacationer Survey Which of these traditional Thanksgiving foods do you dislike?

None of these. I like them all. — 12.38%
I am most surprised that Turkey is the top of the list especially since it is the mainstay at most meals. I totally understand Cranberry Sauce since no one eats it at my home. Pumpkin Pie is also one that does not get a lot of loving. It is almost Un-American not to like Apple Pie!
My advice on preparing for a Thanksgiving Dinner is to make sure that you address the dietary restrictions of your guests first and then after that, prepare your favorites. If you have people who are vegetarians or pescatarians, you will need to serve them something that they can eat. Only preparing turkey will not do. You will need an alternative. Once you address these concerns, focus on the foods you like because you will not make everyone happy. At the least, you should be!
Remember if you are traveling for Thanksgiving by Plane, you may need to check your gravy and cranberry sauce. The general TSA rule is If you can spill it, spread it, spray it, pump it or pour it, and it is larger than 3.4 ounces, then it should go in a checked bag.
