Update on Wine Shrinkflation

Last week, I railed against restaurants shrinking the glasses of wine. In order to save money there has been a trend to reduce wine pours from 6 ounces to 5 ounces thereby allowing restaurants to go from 4 glasses of wine to 5 glasses of wine (basically increasing their profits for each bottle of wine by 25%). It infuriated me to no end.

I am happy to report that when I went to the Cheesecake Factory this weekend, you could order wine in three options. They served wine in 6 ounces, 9 ounces and the entire bottle. I had to confirm with the waitress the size options but she happily confirmed them to me. She seemed to be shocked that some places served 5 ounces. So major kudos to the Cheesecake Factory.
