The Sea Kitchen: Authentic Pan-Asian Cuisine in Delray Beach

As someone who comes from up north, I love the weather but have complained about the food nonstop. It really bothers the native Floridians. But in the last couple of years, the restaurants in Southern Florida have really stepped up their game.
With that said, we tried Sea Kitchen in Delray Beach. It is a pan Asian restaurant that has a cool vibe. There it is again. A restaurant description that includes vibe as an important concept. For this restaurant, it really reflects the ambiance.
The menu had a couple of unique twists that we do not normally see in Asian restaurants down here. We started with the Lobster Shrimp Shumai and the Miso Eggplant. We followed it up with the Pekin Duck, which was as a small plate Pekin Duck Pancakes, and Sea Scallops Drunken Noodles.

The Sea Kitchen really hit it out of the park with the appetizers. The Shumai could have been the best I ever had. It was so flavorful and light. I would have eaten it all up if my wife let me. This was the first time that I ever had Miso Eggplant but it will not be the last. Normally, I have miso on black cod or other fish. The miso sauce really complimented the eggplant. I was so happy that we ordered this dish.
The Pekin Duck was my favorite and I love how they serve it in a bamboo container. It really kept the pancakes fresh. The duck was really tasty and crispy. Half a duck was the perfect size for an entrée. I just do not know how they list it as a small plate. They must have different culinary expectations down here!!

The Drunken Noodle dish was really tasty and with the addition of the scallops, the dish remained light. My issue with this dish was that they used the wrong noodles for a drunken noodles dish. I have only had it as a wide flat noodle. The Sea Kitchen served it with a linguine type noodle. To me it seemed so wrong. My wife told me to get over it. The food was really tasty so I just should accept that they served it up with a different noodle.

We knew ordered well when the table of 4 next to us kept looking at our food and said we made good choices. They ordered the traditional Chinese Fare like Mongolian Beef and Chicken Teriyaki. I cannot imagine that they had as good a meal that I did. The choice of food will of course, drive your satisfaction. That is why looking at a raw review score can be misleading. You need to know what to order!!
I would give the Sea Kitchen the thumbs up in my review for their innovative Asian food. It is a place that I would go back, which is the ultimate question.
