We went the George in Rockville Centre primarily for their Mile High Chocolate Cake. But before we were able to eat dessert, we had to eat appetizers and main dishes. We started off with the wagyu pigs in the blanket, the pierogies and the pretzel. We then follow up with a salmon and chicken sandwich

We thought that the pretzel was a good choice. However, the pierogi and the pigs in the blanket were not. In fact, these appetizers were not just bad but bloody awful. I do not know how these hotdogs could be wagyu unless they changed the definition of what wagyu is. The main dishes were mediocre at best.

On to dessert and the reason we wen to the George. We ordered the mile high chocolate cake. Actually, we ordered this dessert when we first sat down to ensure that they did not run out. Our point of comparison is Junior’s chocolate cake. The George’s chocolate cake was a good choice. It was the highlight of our meal. I will point out that their chocolate cake is not on the level of the Junior’s Chocolate Cake.

My overall impression of the George was that it had a good vibe. So a good place to go for a drink and some dessert. The problems start when you order food. My recommendation is to pass on the George!!
