The Tap Room Jericho -- One of the Worst Meals I Have Had in the Last Decade

I had the unfortunate experience of eating at the Tap Room in Jericho on a Friday night during March Madness. Since this was the first time, we asked our waiter what we should order. Most of the suggestions were fried so we opted for the Tapchos and a Large Pretzel to start. We followed up with a Chicken Burger and a Blackened Chicken Gyro (based upon the the waiters suggestion)

Our waiter, Anthony, was nice and personable but that is where the positives end.

When I was looking through the beer selection, I could not read the menu since the print was illegible.  I went up to the server counter and asked for a better menu which did not work out so well.  The woman said that your printer must be running out of ink!! No apology or thought of fixing the problem

The pretzel we had was not fresh. After a few minutes, it was hard as a rock.

Shortly after being served our appetizers, someone tried to serve our entrees.  We asked them to come back when we were finished with our appetizers but they tried to serve the entrees several times thereafter.  

I dropped a knife when they were taking our appetizers away.  It took your team a while to bring a replacement.  In fact, my wife was half through her entree by the time they brought a replacement knife.

The major issue that my wife has is when they short serve you the wine or other drinks. Here they did it to her twice.

As to the food, most of it was tasteless. My wife ordered a chicken burger which was thin, dry and tasteless. I ordered the blackened chicken gyro which did have some taste but was the blandest blackened chicken I have ever had.

My suggestion is if you have to go here, just order beer and move on. So many better gastropubs around. In fact, I would bet that the food at anyone of the other pubs would be a better choice.
