Taglio Pizza -- A Hidden Pizza Gem Near the Mineola Train Station

We have been going to Taglio Pizza for the past few years. The first time we went, it was for more amusement than anything else. This pizza place is located right by the Mineola LIRR train station. For those of you who do not know about the station, there is this dumpy little street by the entrance that has a gun store and mini mart on the street with little else. But we were surprised with the high quality pizza and almost makes me want to take the train!!

What to get — Always get the Roman pizza. It is sort of a blend between a Sicilian and a regular NY slice of pizza.

It is a square pizza like a Sicilian but it is crispier and lighter than one (with the traits like a regular NY slice). They serve many choices but the ones that I like the best are the classic Roman slice and the Burrata slice. They do pizza right!!

The only downside with Taglio Pizza is that you can only order pizza, paninis and salads. It would be nice to get the full Italian selection of dishes.

Using my 30% rule (if you do not recall, I tend not to switch restaurants unless the new restaurant is 30% better than my current choice), I conclude that Taglio Pizza is 30% better than the surrounding pizza places. As a result, Taglio Pizza is in my rotation.

My verdict, best pizza in the Mineola area.
