Rant -- Stores and Restaurants Over Charging You

This past weekend, I bought some Grey Goose Vodka at Costco and they over charged me by $3 compared to the price displayed. I mentioned this to the cashier and after 5 minutes of his verifying this, he refunded me the price. I do not know how they made this mistake since the vodka was not on sale.

This reminded me of when I used to go to Gabby’s Gourmet Bagels in Woodbury. Before they sold the shop, you had to check you bill carefully. It was not uncommon for them to add $1 to each item you ordered. When confronted they would apologize for their mistake. Some other restaurants would say they raised their prices but did not update their menus yet. I call bull on this…

We all know this is illegal behavior but how many people realize and will take them to task for it. I know that I am not going to file any kind of report for a $1. In other words, due to our laziness, they are inflating their prices and stealing from us. How can we stop this??
