Pio Pio Glen Cove -- Not Up to the Pio Pio Standard

Voted By Local Grubber as a Restaurant to Skip

I am a big fan of Pio Pio. I have eaten at three of the their restaurants in NYC and I was looking for some good Peruvian Chicken so I decided to try the Pio Pio in Glen Cove. I ordered a Juanita’s Chicken for takeout last night and I was beyond disappointed.

The chicken was not only dry but it also did not have any taste. When I went to the restaurant, I was encouraged since they redid the old Claudio Restaurant’s space to make it light and inviting. The people were friendly and helpful. All positives.

The only problem was the chicken itself. For those of you who never had Pio Pio before, I highly recommend a trip to the other nine Pio Pio restaurants. They serve some especially tasty rotisserie chicken. Another one of their specials is Salchipapa, which is French fries with hot dogs.

As much as I like the other Pio Pio locations, I disliked the food I was served at the Glen Cove location. Since I evaluate restaurants primarily based upon their food, I have to give this Pio Pio the thumbs down. There are better places to go for rotisserie chicken.
