Pantano's Doz Bagels New Hyde Park -- A Nice Surprise

On our next leg of our bagel tour, we headed to Pantano’s Doz Bagels in New Hyde Park. After the series of disappointing bagels, I was feeling that bagels on Long Island are either overrated or everyone and their brothers think that they can serve great bagels. Clearly, most can not.

As usual, I ordered a plain bagel.

The bagel was lightly brown with a slight glaze. It was crunchy on the outside with a chewy dough inside. The taste of the bagel was both sweet and salty. A very respectable bagel. I will have to deduct points because the bagel could have been more golden brown and it should have had a better glaze.

The bagel is better than any Florida comparable bagel. For these reasons, we award Pantano’s Doz Bagels a score of 8 out of 10.
