Old School Florida Restaurant -- Rosie's Bar and Grill

We were down in Wilton Manors and need a place to eat. It being New Year’s Day, that is more of a challenge than I anticipated. We found that Rosie’s Bar and Grill was open. We found it to be a traditional Florida restaurant. It even had the Chinese Lantern Lights. I know that it is probably culturally incorrect but it still creates a fun atmosphere.

I also love the fact that they have valet parking since parking can be a challenge in Wilton Manors. While we did not have high hopes for the food, we decided to embrace the variety of choices. The menu has Mexican and Burger food. We decided to start with the chicken nachos. These were excellent. The only recommendation that I would make is that they needed to add more salsa either on the side or mixed in.

For our entrees, we had a BBQ Burger and a Mahi Mahi Fish Taco. They really delivered on both dishes. The burger was cooked perfectly. But the star of the show was the Fish Taco which was grilled and cajun dusted.

I did love their choices of sides. I went with the Tater Tots since it reminded me of my youth. We also had the coleslaw which was a nice add on to the taco. I was only sorry that I could not order more of them. I really wanted the onion rings since I have not had a good one in years.

We highly recommend Rosie’s Bar and Grill but remember to sit outside. It is much more enjoyable. As a final note, they installed the Yelp wait list app so that you can see where you are on the wait list and estimated time left. This app is definitely my favorite restaurant add on. It saves you from annoying the host on how much longer do you have to wait.
