Market Bistro -- A Local Bistro That is a Contradiction In Terms

We decided to visit Market Bistro in Jericho to see what local beers they had. From our review of their website, they described the place as a farm to table concept with a rustic ambiance that will create an unforgettable dining experience. When we arrive, we decided that the people who designed the website did not actually visit it.

I would say the ambiance was more like a neighborhood pub. They had a great selection of beers and wines. Since we are focused on the food, we ordered a corn bread, then a meatball appetizer and the Grilled Octopus

For entrees, we had a Pan Seared Tuna and a Parmesan Crusted Cod

As usual, the appetizer portion of our meal was the best. The meatballs were next level which the octopus was grilled perfectly. For the entrees, the pan seared tuna was tasty but on the whole average. The cod was a better choice.

On the whole, the food was tasty but it was interesting that the waiter did not discuss the farm to table concept at all. It is as if that was a sales point that never made it to prime time. I would recommend Market Bistro for a good meal in a local tavern. A good place to go with friends.
