Mama Soup -- Overrated Soup and Deli

I heard a rumor that Mama Soup had the best soups around so decided to visit Mineola for a taste of their soup. When I showed up, there was no one else in the place which is not a good sign. But I was on the early sign so I continued in my quest.

To start, they are not just a soup place but a full fledged deli. I was only focused on the soup so no comment on anything else. They have a relatively wide selection of soups (in excess of a dozen). I tried a few and originally intended to go with the chicken pot pie but that did not make the cut. After bothering the server, I decided to go with the Seafood Bisque.

The Seafood Bisque was filling and tasted good but I felt that something was missing. I did not ask many questions but I felt that it would be better with some form of cream, wine or other ingredients. Basically, it needed a little more kick so maybe some tabasco or cayenne pepper.

My conclusion is the soups are ok to good but do not rise to the level as the best (maybe the best in the office building where they are located).

The other conclusion that I reached is that I am a pain in the ass for continuing to ask for soups other suggestions. I bet they were saying to themselves, just order the damn soup and leave!! Who could argue with them.
