Kura Revolving Sushi Bar -- Time to Move On

I had a free night and what better way to enjoy it than to order sushi on a conveyer belt. That is the gimmick for Kura Revolving Sushi Bar in Carle Place. At Kura they have a bunch of booths with a conveyer belt winding its way through out the restaurant. Customers can take whatever sushi they want as the food passes by. If you want something else besides sushi, you need to order on the touchscreen at the table. A fun robot brings drinks to your table.

The restaurant was pretty busy with people waiting outside so I decided to go with the takeout option, which you can do on the app or in the restaurant. I ordered Chicken Gyoza Dumpling, the Salmon Roe (Ikura Gunkan), Spice Tuna Hand Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll and Crunching Roll

The sushi was mediocre. I was happy that later that evening I did not get sick. I get the fun of the sushi rolling past you on a conveyer belt. But in the end, you should serve good food. I should have listened to my family who said that it was a big mistake eating food off of a conveyer belt.

Another thing that annoyed me was the food looked so much better on their site than in real life. I am not talking about the traditional way restaurants present their food. This time, it looked like it was two different restaurants and dishes being served.

My take is that this restaurant is a good place to have fun and watch the food go on by you. You should order some drinks and enjoy the show but eat somewhere else!
