I was in NYC for a conference and needed to grab a quick lunch. As I passed Junior’s Cheesecake Deli in Times Square, I decided to look no more for a deli sandwich. Junior’s was packed with a bunch of tourists looking for a real New York deli experience. As a result, I had little confidence that the food would be good or that the experience would be real. Add to the fact that I was in Times Square, I normally would keep on walking.

I ended up ordering a cup of chicken soup along with a half chicken salad sandwich. It was surprising good. The soup was tasting with the right amount of chicken soup and noodles. The chicken salad was also really good with the right amount of mayonnaise. It just need a little pepper but that it is personal preference.

For dessert, I had a piece of chocolate fudge cake. The chocolate fudge cake was unbelievably good. It may be the best fudge cake that I ever had. In fact, on the way home, I went to their bakery and bought more of the chocolate fudge cake for home. A really cute thing is that the cake came in a triangle plastic case.

My conclusion is that I judged Junior’s wrongly. It was a great place for lunch. I would highly recommend it for lunch for anyone in the area. Don’t forget to get the chocolate fudge cake for dessert.
