H&H Bagels in Boca Raton

I was on my way to Crumbl Cookies in Boca Raton and noticed H&H Bagels had a store right near by. We absolutely love H&H Bagels in NYC so how could we pass up the local variety. The shop was clean and looked like a real bagel shop from New York.

What I mean from that is that it is focused on takeout and has not waitress service. So to put it on a fine point, you order the food and then they hand it to you. You can either take it away or eat at one of their tables inside or outside. Very simple. Exactly how we like it. The place was super clean, even more so than any bagel shop from New York.

The selection of bagels was a little light but they did have everything and pumpernickel.

As to the appetizing, we tried the whitefish salad and boy was it salty. In fact, it was even too salty for me. So we ended up getting chicken and tuna salads. These were marginally ok appetizers.

As to the bagels, we ask how did they compare to bagels from New York. It turns out that we are not the only people who ask about this.

They make the bagels from New York water. That was a great start. Then they stated that they bake them fresh on site each day. What I took that to mean is that they boil the bagels in New York and then ship them (probably frozen) around the country where they are baked at that location each day. So it can never be as fresh or tasty as a bagel from New York

It clearly was not as good as a New York bagel but it was superior to the typical Florida bagel. It tasted like a good day old bagel. I would go back for a bagel again but I am disappointed in their appetizing so I may have to explore other options!!
