My next stop in the bagel tour was Goody’s Bagels and Spreads in Greenvale. Driving up to the unassuming storefront, I did not know what to expect. I was briefly reassured when there was a line of 6 people ahead of me all getting bagel sandwiches. As is my standard approach I ordered a plain bagel
This bagel was so pale that I could almost not tell where it ended and the plate started. Clearly, it was not cooked enough which I confirmed with my first bite since it did not have the requisite crunch. The dough in side was not great either. As to the taste, it was just plain bland.
My conclusion is that this a poor example of a bagel Even if I use my Florida standard, I believe it would not measure up to the average bagel in Florida. So on a scale of 1 to 10, I have to give Goody’s bagels and Spreads a 2.
