Long Island’s Dirty Taco: A Fresh Take on Mexican with an Island Vibe

Our friends have proposed by the Dirty Taco + Tequila in Port Washington which is located in Manhasset Bay Marina.  You will find it nestled in the corner at the end of street that has industrial and residential buildings.  Interesting enough it is right next door to Serra Provisions, our new favorite Italian Grocer Store.  Dirty Taco starts with its ambiance.

Ambiance and Setting

One of the most appealing aspects of Dirty Taco in Port Washington is its location at the Manhasset Bay Marina. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with the outdoor patio providing picturesque views of the marina and the bay.  Dining outside is a definite highlight.  The interior boasts a modern, urban aesthetic, complemented by two large, full-height bars (one inside, one outside), contributing to a fun and energetic vibe. The vibe is a major selling point for Dirty Taco.  It is a great place to grab a drink and enjoy the view.  As we were leaving, you could see the crowd getting younger and younger.  Definitely a lively bar scene.

The Culinary Experience:

As you would expect, Dirty Taco is all about their tacos.  We did start with their Guacamole and Chips.  We definitely enjoyed it as a started.

I then proceed to order The Kung Pao Chicken, The Adobe Chicken and the Bang Bang Chicken Tacos.  I did love the Asian inspired fusion of their tacos.  My favorite was the Bang Bang Taco.  With the addition of the sauce and lightly fried chicken, this dish just exploded in my mouth.

Service and Overall Impression

Service was incredible for a business Tuesday night.  We received our guacamole and chips so quickly that we were impressed.  It was almost like our waiter was reading our mind.  We had enough time between the chips and the entrees to really enjoy the appetizer.  The wait staff definitely added to our experience.

To check our traditional boxes, they asked about drinks when we sat down and then later during our meals.  They kept our water glasses filled and asked us how our meal was and if we need anything else.

We really enjoyed our meal and the vibe of Dirty Taco was energetic.  They did a really good job here.  The marina views enhances your dining experience to the point that you feel the island vibes.
