Chimichurri Charcoal Chicken -- Another Miss

I was in Carle Place and was intrigued by a restaurant sign — Chimichurri Charcoal Chicken. I liked all three words in the restaurant’s name. I was challenged since I just finished lunch to eat there but I figured that I could try the wings to see if it made sense to come back for a full meal.

While I only ordered the chicken wings, I figured that this would be a good indication of how they prepared their food. My first reaction was that this food is just plain awful. My take on the food did not change from the beginning to the end. The chicken was dry and not tasty at all. How can you advertise chimichurri in your name and come up with bland chicken?

This place is definitely a one and done for me. It did make me start to think on the number of restaurants that have been in that space. Each time, I have high hopes that I found a new and interesting place. Unfortunately, I am disappointed each time. It begs the question on why do sub par restaurants keep opening in this space. Or is it a jinxed space? Why doesn’t a Jersey Mike Subs open in that space? I would even take a bakery or even a trendy taco place? If I wait another 6 months to a year, I am sure that I will get another opportunity to try a new place there.

In the meantime, you can skip Chimichurri Charcoal Chicken because I ate there and it is not worth going back.
