Burger City -- Best Burger on Long Island?

I saw on Bethpage Best of Long Island that Burger City in East Meadow was voted the best burger on Long Island. So off I went to Burger City to see if it lived up to the hype. Burger City is a classic burger stand with a takeout window and a couple of picnic tables outside.

I ordered a hot dog and cheeseburger to decide whether the Best of Long Island is right.

First up was the hot dog. It is a grilled Hebrew National hot dog that I ordered with mustard and sauerkraut. It was a respectable hot dog with enough crunch to satisfy my hot dog craving but not as good as other Hot Dogs that I have had.

Onto the main event, the Cheeseburger. While it does not look like anything special, Burger City delivers the good on the burger front. The bun looked all crinkly and smooshed. But it bun was fresh, airy and tasty. The burger was also great. It was cooked to perfection and the pickles really added to the experience. All in all, I was extremely happy with my burger choice.

While I am not ready to say that Burger City sells the best burger on Long Island like others, I have to say that Burger City delivers a high quality burger that should be in the running. More to follow on this front.
