Super Bowl Top Foods Include Pigs in the Blanket

As follow up to the favorite wedding appetizers, I was intrigued to see what the favorite appetizers were for the Super Bowl.  The Super Bowl is one of the most celebrated events all year and more people have parties that day than any other day of the year.  As our country is one of the most diverse, food choices tend to vary greatly for these celebrations.

I decided to pick Martha Stewart and her Super Bowl menu as a base for seeing what the favorite foods were for the Super Bowl.  These include:

  • Sriracha Buffalo Wings
  • Ginger-Scallion Chicken Wings
  • Pigs in a Blanket
  • Guacamole and Tortilla Chips
  • San Francisco Cocktail (combination of Martini and Manhattan Cocktails)
  • Kansas City Ice Water (Citrus Favored Water)
  • Kale-Ricotta Dip
  • Tandoori Chicken Wings

This menu is definitely eclectic.  It has many traditional appetizers and others interesting ones that could spice up some meals.

According to Fox Sports, the top 10 best foods to eat during the Super Bowl are

  • Wings
  • Pizza Chips and Dip
  • Nachos
  • Sliders
  • Loaded Potato Skins
  • Pigs in a Blanket
  • Chili
  • Meatballs
  • Cupcakes and Cookies

There are some overlaps in these items.  I think that the clear number one is Chicken Wings but in both of these lists, Pigs in the Blanket fall in the top 10 foods.  The evidence is mounting that Pigs in the Blanket are a favorite food for multiple occasions.  They span events from Weddings to Football Games.

I can imagine eating Pigs in the Blanket at almost any event or any time (other than breakfast since I am partial to pancakes at that time).
