I just read in Newsday that La Parma in Williston Park is closing. Their last date is July 27th. We can add La Parma to another long time Italian restaurant, Domenico’s (which closed after 58 years). While La Parma was opened for only 41 years, it provided a whole bunch of fun and tasty memories. The good news is that they have other locations in Huntington and Oceanside which should remain open.
According to La Parma’s website, it is one of the first family style restaurants on Long Island. This restaurant was perfect for my family of 6 so we could order a large number of dishes and still have too much to eat. It was a great restaurant for a group that loved to share. Of course, I have friends who do not even like to share Chinese food. It is all about the right group of folks.
With the right group, we would get La Parma Salad, Penne ala Vodka, Linguine with Red Clam Sauce and Chicken Parm.
La Parma will be missed. We all have to plan a visit before they close. It may be challenging getting a reservation with so little time left.
